Meet Our Inaugural ASPIRE Cohort
Growth doesn’t always begin with a new title. Sometimes, it begins by recognizing strong performance, investing in your people, and creating opportunities to build on what they already do well.
That’s the idea behind ASPIRE: Advancing Skills through Performance, Influence, Readiness & Excellence, our new professional development program designed to recognize employees who demonstrate strong performance, meaningful contributions, and a commitment to continued growth.
Our inaugural cohort includes five property managers who were thoughtfully selected and recommended by their regional property managers:
✨ Cheyenne Brown | The Villas at Island Road & Stafford Street Village
✨ Brandy Crawford | Universal at Mountainview
✨ Tatum Gouge | Universal at Mockingbird Lane
✨ Tara Marcum | Universal at Thompson Creek
✨ Semi Nobles | Universal at Boiling Springs
Through monthly development sessions, the cohort will strengthen skills in communication, decision-making, collaboration, and more while learning from one another and building on the strengths they already bring to their roles.
And this is just the beginning. Additional ASPIRE cohorts will be selected beginning in 2027 and beyond, expanding opportunities for team members across property operations.

We're wrapping up our Property Manager video series with one final spotlight: Cheyenne & Tatum! 🎉
Cheyenne became Property Manager at The Villas at Island Road and Stafford Street Village in 2024. When asked about her greatest accomplishment, her answer wasn't about numbers. It was about people. She shared that her biggest win has been being part of someone else's success story after her first Assistant Property Manager was promoted within their first year. Supporting and mentoring others is an important part of who we are, and we're proud of Cheyenne for investing in the people around her.
Tatum is one of our newest Property Managers at Universal at Mockingbird Lane and she has been making an impact from day one. She set a goal to get her community back on a waitlist, and she accomplished it. Congratulations, Tatum, on hitting the ground running!

Progress is happening at Universal at Beaver Creek in Powell, TN!
The clubhouse foundation is officially underway. While the concrete slab hasn't been poured just yet, a lot of important work has already taken place behind the scenes, including:
✅ Excavation and grading
✅ Stem wall construction
✅ Compacted stone base
✅ Vapor barrier installation
✅ Plumbing rough-ins

For the past 15 years, Katie Sheets has done exactly that.
Since joining Universal Development & Construction in 2011, Katie has grown alongside Universal Living, taking on new challenges, helping shape our training program, mentoring teammates, and leading with excellence every step of the way.

There was something special about seeing more than 100 Universal Living team members from across three states gathered together in one room.
From maintenance technicians to property managers, senior leadership and more, this year's Annual All Teams Meeting brought every part of our property portfolio together for one shared purpose: strengthening the teamwork that makes our communities successful.
