Celebrating a Tennessee Icon 💕🎶
Today, we’re remembering Dolly Parton, a true Tennessee icon whose heart, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her community have inspired generations. From the beauty of East Tennessee to communities across the region, Dolly’s influence is felt far beyond the stage. Her belief in the power of kindness, education, opportunity, and giving back is a legacy worth celebrating.
We’re especially proud to remember Dolly at The Villas at Kyker Ferry and The Villas at Pigeon River, two Universal Living communities right in the middle of the region Dolly has called home. Our appreciation reaches across the entire Universal Living family of properties. We’re grateful to live, work, and serve in communities shaped by the same spirit of compassion, resilience, and neighborly love that Dolly represented.

Look at the progress at Altitude at 101! 🏗️
The last time we visited, blue tarps and vapor barriers were everywhere as crews worked to protect the foundation. Now, the concrete foundation is officially complete!
You can also see a vertical concrete masonry unit (CMU) structure taking shape in the center, which will likely become the future elevator shaft or central stairwell. Dozens of PVC pipes extend from the slab, marking future utility connections for bathrooms, kitchens, drainage, and more.
And the progress doesn't stop there! Areas that were once gravel and bare dirt are now fully paved with black asphalt and concrete curbs, creating the future drive lanes and parking areas.
It's exciting to see Altitude @ 101 take shape, one step at a time! 👀🏗️

🎉 Congratulations to Lois Campbell on her 5-year anniversary with Universal Development & Construction!
Lois joined Universal Living as a Property Manager at The Villas at Boone Ridge in Johnson City, where she earned her CAM certification and began building the foundation for an incredible career with Universal.
Since then, Lois has continued to grow and take on new opportunities. She was promoted to Senior Property Manager for The Villas at Island Road, Stafford Street Village, and The Villas at Lavinder Lane in Bristol before stepping into the role of Regional Property Manager for Sullivan County. Shortly after, she took on the Washington County Region and earned her CAPS certification.
Most recently, Lois became the Regional Property Manager of the Smoky Mountain Region, where she has been focused on strengthening her team, overseeing the lease-up of Universal at Strawberry Plains, and supporting several exciting projects across her region.
Outside of work, Lois has been enjoying exploring her new home with her best friend, Mack 🐾, discovering local spots, and spending time at Douglas Lake.
When asked what she’s looking forward to, Lois shared:
“I’m excited for the next five years because I’m able to help others grow in their careers and that challenges me to be a better leader for them.”

Growth doesn’t always begin with a new title. Sometimes, it begins by recognizing strong performance, investing in your people, and creating opportunities to build on what they already do well.
That’s the idea behind ASPIRE: Advancing Skills through Performance, Influence, Readiness & Excellence, our new professional development program designed to recognize employees who demonstrate strong performance, meaningful contributions, and a commitment to continued growth.
Our inaugural cohort includes five property managers who were thoughtfully selected and recommended by their regional property managers:

We're wrapping up our Property Manager video series with one final spotlight: Cheyenne & Tatum! 🎉
Cheyenne became Property Manager at The Villas at Island Road and Stafford Street Village in 2024. When asked about her greatest accomplishment, her answer wasn't about numbers. It was about people. She shared that her biggest win has been being part of someone else's success story after her first Assistant Property Manager was promoted within their first year. Supporting and mentoring others is an important part of who we are, and we're proud of Cheyenne for investing in the people around her.
Tatum is one of our newest Property Managers at Universal at Mockingbird Lane and she has been making an impact from day one. She set a goal to get her community back on a waitlist, and she accomplished it. Congratulations, Tatum, on hitting the ground running!
